Our History

    Tony Martinez was admitted to the bar in 1970.  Eight years after he began his career he partnered up with an aspiring young lawyer by the name of Horacio L. Barrera.  The partnership which began in 1978 has developed  into a long-standing successful relationship in the local, state, and national legal arenas.  As their years of experience increased Mr. Barrera and Mr. Martinez began specialize their general litigation practice into serious personal injury civil litigation.  Both have increased their repertoire of cases to include a number of notable cases.  Both individuals are actively involved in issues affecting their community and continue to focus their practice on the people.

   They have recently added a new partner to the firm by the name of Benigno “Trey” Martinez.  He also happens to be Mr. Martinez’s son.  He brings even more litigation experience to the firm as he prosecuted for the United States Attorney’s Office and tried a number of cases to successful completion after clerking for the Honorable Reynaldo G. Garza, Senior Circuit Judge for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He now has added a number of civil cases of action to his repertoire of cases that have been successfully tried.

   The three attorney’s combined have over 40 years of legal experience and most of it being centered in the courtroom in front of a jury.
